We know when we see it. It may come to us in the form of an email box, a presentation, a discussion, or a project that has way too many parts and pieces. It's called complexity. Complexity usually has an accomplice, it's chaos. These two typically run together.
So how do we battle these two forces when they commandeer our days and derail us from achieving our goals? It's...
Focus.
In his post on how to improve focus, Sam Chia identifies five common causes for poor focus, then shares 15 different ways you can improve it. One of those ways is to "Choose to Focus on the Moment". There are many things vying your attention every moment of every day. They are pulling us away from focusing on the very thing that will help us reach our goals or accomplish our dreams. Sam shares that we should "train our mental resources to focus on the details of what matters at the moment".
It is possible. It takes discipline to reduce the distractions and narrow our thinking to what we're experiencing in the here and now.
