Your Most Important Creative Tool; Perspective

We all have a problem. It's not a serious one, but it keeps us from experiencing the kind of joy, happiness, and wonder that could be fully realized if we took time to consider it:

Our Perspective.

This problem impacts our work, personal life, and our ability to be truly creative.

The curse of knowledge can also have an adverse impact on our perspective. This phenomenon narrows our view and doesn't give us the opportunity to be without knowing. The key to truly being creative is to suspend our knowledge, preconceptions, perspective, and imagine what it would be like to not know or understand what is common to us.

It's applying the old adage, and realizing that the trees can often blind us from the majesty of the forest.

“It is the obvious which is so difficult to see most of the time. People say 'It's as plain as the nose on your face.' But how much of the nose on your face can you see, unless someone holds a mirror up to you?” – Isaac Asimov

It may open doors that are truly inspiring.
